10 things that make ME happy.
- finding music that connects. or, adding another to my list of soul songs.
- showers. hot, steamy, carefree, long showers. time cannot touch me when i'm showering.
- webcomics. here here here and here.
- photography. especially when pictures turn out how i want them to. or when i get a surprise shot.
- feeling pretty solid in a language. i was buying fabric today, and overheard a conversation in spanish. i understood every word. it was great. having four different ways to say "no" run through your head is not so fun. especially when you forgot how to say it in spanish. (hint: it's the same as english) silly semitic languages.
- having epic dreams. last night i dreamt that andrew bird was staying with us. awesome! two nights ago, i was the captain of an army that was gathering in the hubble (hbll). we were preparing for this awesome real/pretend battle (with swords!) between us and the U. let me tell you, i slaughtered them. i got all crafty and motivational. and i only attacked guys for some reason. but i beat every one. if we were in battle, you'd definitely want me as your leader. i'm better than william wallace.
- president hinckley. listened to a talk from him last night. and he just makes me happy.
- movies about animals. or giant robots that are meant to kill humans, but learn to be good instead. i'm lookin' at you spirit: stallion of the cimarron and the iron giant.
- the smell of lake water/mud. i kept walking past the rb today, and i couldn't peg the earthy smell till a few hours ago. always good times playing in the dark, muddy sand.
- hummus. i have gone through an entire bowl that i bought at target in 2 days. so so so good.
5 shout outs:
Such a good list! And I'm incredibly interested in it because it's yours. Some people's happy lists bore me because I don't know them. But that's ok.
And your epic dream made me think of Harry Potter. Can we have some sort of cool DA club that has a special meeting place on campus? I need more magic in my life.
I always admire people who are multilingual! I am one too. What other languages can you speak besides Spanish and English? You have mentioned "four different ways."
Reyna. Yes. I can't believe that BYU hasn't come up with one already. Your last sentence is so true.
Lucy. I've taken Hebrew for 2 semesters. I'm getting pretty confident in Arabic.
I want to learn Welsh, and Italian, and Mandarin, aaaannd... maybe French. but that's just for Morocco.
I was learning Italian but I had no one to converse with so everything went out the window. It should be easy for you since you've got Spanish. I prefer Japanese to any Chinese language/dialects but to each its own :)
no one is better than william wallace. except maybe jesus.
