quote of however-long-I-feel-like:

Suppose we have only dreamed, or made up, all those things - trees and grass and sun and moon and stars.

Suppose we have.

Then all I can say is that, in any case, the made - up things seem a good deal more important than the real ones.

Oh Nelly.

So remember when I talked about some friends getting a taser?

Well... It finally came.

If that doesn't work, then let me know and I'll find another way to give you guys a good laugh.

New Day & Age.

Okay, quick update:

The Killers album came out today! WOO HOO!!! They're coming to Utah for a concert sometime around March.

Ummm.... Nick is now going out with my boss.

Less than a month till I get to go home.

I saw Candice yesterday, we had lunch together, and it was really fun.

Meredith is hopefully coming on Friday night.

I saw the movie Traitor. It was awesome.

I spoke in church last week.

I'm gonna go eat now.

This one's for you HotMama.

Pics? Well... I'm kinda disgusted by my double chin in them... but hey... by Christmas time, you can all be impressed by my single chin. So I guess I'll suck it up and post the dang pics.

So, this was our group: Me, Nick, Steel (what a cool name!), Stefani, Eric (what a dork :P), and Kelly (Amazing girl here!)

We got ahold of Kelly's camera... but this was the only pic she posted... so, none of the silly faced ones made it... :(

I'm a beast.

What a retard... This was my attempt at dancing, but I really liked Kelly's pose, so, we're keeping it.

"Foo, back up off it!"

That's Nick's elbow. fyi.

Anyway, it was a blast.

..

:D

Gah!.

Okay, I am sick of it!

Look at this crap:

http://www.invalidateprop8.org
Send a message to the Mormon Church, whose members raised more than $15 million to fund the deceitful advertising campaign for Proposition 8, the initiative that takes away the right to marry for same sex couples in California!

Make a donation, in the name of the president of the Mormon Church, to support the legal organizations working to invalidate Proposition 8 and to fund grass-roots activities in support of full marriage equality. For every donation of $5 or more, the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center will send the following postcard to President Thomas Monson’s office in Salt Lake City, acknowledging your donation in his name:

Dear President Monson:

A donation has been made in your name by _________________ to “invalidateprop8.org” to overturn California's Proposition 8 and restore fundamental civil rights to all citizens of California. The money will be donated to legal organizations fighting the case and to support grass-roots activities in support of full marriage equality. Although we decry the reprehensible role the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints leadership played in denying all Californians equal rights under the law, we are pleased a donation has been made on your behalf in the effort to overturn the discrimination your church members helped enshrine in the California Constitution. Given that throughout its history the Mormon Church has been subjected to bigotry, we hope you appreciate the donation in your name to fight religious bigotry here in California.

Let’s work to overturn Prop. 8 while sending a message to the Mormon Church that it’s wrong for any organization to exert political influence to deny the civil rights of any group!

AAgghhh!! There are attacks on the church all over the place. It's so annoying.

Halloween. and. Preference.

Okay, so these are some of my fellow coworkers. The one on my left is Dan. And the wolf is Amber. I don't know who the hippie is.
So basically after work, me, kelly, dan, rachel, meg, and davey hung out around town. We went to sonic, started a movie called 28 Weeks later (edited). It was definitely scary enough. 2 minutes into it, and i had enough. So we switched to Shaun of the Dead (also edited). Which was hilarious. I loved the references to Night of the living dead. Anyway, so after the movies, we went looking for a place to eat that wasn't full of scary looking college kids. We ended up at SconeCutter (every thing's better on a scone). And then we stayed out until 4 am. I was still sick... so that probably didn't help. And then Saturday, the international cinema was playing this horror film called el orfenato (The Orphanage). It was amazing. Like, my favorite Halloweeny movie now.

So, on Monday I randomly found a pack of glow-in-the-dark stars at the bookstore. And I bought them. And a couple of packs of starbursts. And decided to ask Nick to preference. So during work on Wednesday, I snuck out of work during visiting hours, and into his room. And left this:

 Which says:

starlight, star bright
first starburst i see tonight
wish i may, wish i might
be your date on preference night

And then I scattered the other starburst around his room randomly.

And of course put the stars everywhere as well.

Unfortunately, the stars only look cool when they're glowing.

And he responded today with this stuck in a piano bench:

The starbursts were inside the candy wrapper, and it was taped shut. I was so excited to get chocolate... What a let down. :)

And this is what the note said:

I feel like such a little zoobie.

Anyway, we'll be going to a jumbo twister party on Saturday. Mostly because it's the only one that didn't require a car. I'm excited.

I made it!.

Okay, so, I'm not judging here.... I'm just acknowledging the first freshman girl on my floor to get engaged. Two and a half weeks. Best of luck to the couple.

I got a 95.5 on my calc exam!!! Woo Hoo!!! That really made my day.

I'm still sick.

Preference is in a little over 2 weeks. Any (creative (it is BYU after all)) ideas on how to ask someone to go with me?

I had my first experience with accidentally sticking a 100% cotton sweater into a dryer.... It was amazing how much it shrunk! Luckily it was way too big to begin with.

Halloween is on Friday!!! Woo Hoo!!!

Yeah, I can't really think of anything else to say. I just wanted to get to the bottom of the picture so it would be even. I'm listening to the soundtrack to Anastasia right now. I found an egg on my bike 2 days ago. Odd. The Cannon Center (where I work) has been egged twice.

This is really hard!!! Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....................

Bleh.

So, after all of my hard work, of not getting sick.... it turns out I am. I was thinking about it, and why is it that a lot more people get sick during the winter?

So... I carved a pumpkin on Friday. On  one side is Marvin the Martian (I know... it's a little hard to tell, but whatever) It looks better in the daytime.
And on the other side, it's a star!

I also went to Wal - Mart (I'm sorry dad, please don't hate me)  and got this amazing costume from the boys section!!!
Unfortunately they won't let me wear it at work on Halloween. Well, they said I just couldn't wear a mask. Now, how can you be batman without a mask? Lame, I know.  Let's see, well, I don't have any other tests until November, which is good, seeing as how I can't think straight now.  Um.... tomorrow is Saturday! And I'll be going with a girl from work to The MOA. I hope I can find some drugs before then so I don't completely gross her out. I've been craving Disney movies like no other, and I think that YouTube  being blocked is not helping. The Lion King, The Newsies, Oliver and Company, Fox and the Hound... trust me, the list goes on.... Well, I have to go shower and get ready for the day. Last picture:
On Friday I went to Red Robin with some friends from work, one of whom is Rachel here. She's crazy and I love her.

Anyway, you guys have a wonderful day!!

7 random things tag.

So apparently, I was tagged in my Mom's blog... I'm a little late, I know.

Seven random things... ? This'll be tough.

1. Purple is my favorite color! I got a purple case for my macbook! My favorite eyeshadow is purple. So is my eyeliner! Makes my green eyes POP!

2. (I guess I'll keep going with the green) I'm going golfing tomorrow! Hopefully it all goes well. Actually, I'm just hoping I'm not going to make too big of a fool of myself. (I went, and I stink)

3. (We'll go with the color of my sheets now) I saw O Brother, Where Art Thou? for the first time this weekend. I loved the music. I know Dason has it, so ask him if he can email it to me. Please and thank you!

4. (I like this whole color idea :P ) What I really want for christmas is more glow-in-the-dark stars to finish my room. *hint hint*

5. I love the surprised expression people give me when I tell them that I'm an economics major. The way they react makes me feel like I'm the only girl here at BYU who isn't a MFHD major.

6. I'm going to the Museum of Art this weekend! I'm way excited!

7. I feel a cold coming on... :( Not fun. Hopefully I'll be able to fight it back...

Anyway, I don't really know anyone else to tag, so yeah.

Temple.

I JUST GOT MY RECOMMEND!!! I'm so excited.

Now when I go to the temple during the week, I won't feel useless just sitting there. I can finally go inside! Although... look how peaceful and stunning it is at night.... :)

Say "Hi" to Moroni!

On Tuesday I went during the day and did my Book of Mormon homework... The sunset turned it to shining gold. Maybe I should get a picture of that.

So basically, if you have any names that need to be baptized, let me know...

Hehe.

I jumped from the tree of wisdom onto a rock that I didn't see.
I looked like a total loser the next day. You try walking without stepping on the bottom of your foot .
Oh, that'd be my foot.

Okay, pics of nasty milk contest below!

My bad.

So, I meant to update at least once a week... but I didn't. Sorry.

I've been working, and it's a blast. I love it. I make pasta, and my uniform is hilarious! I'll upload a picture next week. I've got to say that my favorite class is golf. We haven't actually worked on driving yet so I'm kinda scared to go and play a round.

My next favorite class is Pearl of Great Price, my teacher is what people would call a gentle giant. HE'S FREAKING HUGE!!! But he is a great story teller.

Time to address the rumors of a boy...

There was potential, but then I got really bored/annoyed.

The end.

On Wednesday the guys found out I had pepper spray, and they voted that Dallin should be the one sprayed. Well, they tried his arm and the results weren't extreme enough for them, so he decided to spray his hand and lick it.

If you can't see it, his tongue is bright orange.

Much better. This then inspired them to order a taser (what's with guys and pain?) from a website I found. So in about 4 business days, I should have some awesome videos to upload. They all want to try it on themselves. Idiots.

Friday night I was walking to the creamery by Heritage with a friend to get apple juice when a car with a ton of people pulled up, and said we should hop in. First, we knew they were kidding, and there wasn't any room anyways. Well it turns out they weren't kidding, so we got in. 14 people in a 5 passenger car. Wow. We went around the block , and then split before the po-po got too close. They then invited us to go cow tipping... we drove around in separate cars for like 2 hours. But no luck, we only found sheep and horses. We went to their place and we had a bacon party at Wyview. They are crazy.

We beat Wyoming so badly on Saturday it was boring. I left early, realized that I had locked myself out of my dorm, and went to Heritage to chill with some guy friends (one of which looks like Cameron from Ferris Bueller's Day Off). They found out I had brought my wii, so they demanded that I go get it. Which I did after I interrupted my RA's nap. We played Super Smash Brothers, and after Kyle went undefeated for 20 rounds in a row, we switched to Mario Kart. It was fun.

I went home before midnight, hoping to get some sleep... But at 10 I got a call saying there was a gallon chugging challenge going on at Heritage at 10:30.
How can you pass up an opportunity of watching 6 guys vomit a gallon of milk? It was nasty.
They used trash bags and held them up when they were finished... So much milk... It smelled rancid.
The bags spilled a couple of times... Let me say, I'm glad I'm not living in Whitney Hall... ugh.

Later tonight I should be going to family dinner at the Jex's. Anne makes amazing rolls!

That's about it for now. I'll try and keep up with this.

The Requested Update.

So school's started. I love all my classes. Well... Maybe not calculus, I don't think I could ever love that course from the fiery depths of Hades. I think Golf would have to be the most entertaining class. :) Especially if you're watching me attempt it. I love the library. Especially the Religion and Genealogy section. A bunch of old, quiet people... They're awesome. I've got the routes planned out pretty well from one class to the next now, and I'm only late to Golf because it's so far away from everything else. This Saturday is the game against UCLA, and a freshmen dance. My room's a little messy... reminds me of back home. :)

I've been meeting a TON of people. I feel so bad though, because as I learn 1 new name, my brain forgets 2.  Uchdorf and Packer came to the Marriott Center on Saturday for the Regional Conference. My burn is now scabbed over. (and nasty looking) I went for a walk the other night, thinking I would run into the Creamery, instead I found the MTC and the temple. And right now I'm tired, so goodnight all!

Oops.

So... I tried to make pizza using the oven in the basement...

First Day! :)

These are pics from the convocation.

This is for you Mom.

And this is the path I thought led to my first class...

Instead, I found ducks.

After about 35 minutes of wandering, yes, I did find my way to class.

This is my Door.

So, I loved all of my professors so far. I accidentally skipped a class today without realizing it, but it worked out, he's a really nice guy and wasn't upset. I am so excited!!!

(Don't worry Mom and Dad, I already finished my homework)

Day... w/e.

Summary of last couple of days:
  1. We bought my books, clothes, and everything else I needed.
  2. I went to the convocation given by President Samuelson.
  3. I explored the library.
  4. I GOT MY SPERRYs!!! :D
  5. I went to the football game against UNI (University of Northern Iowa). We won of course.
  6. I've met a bunch of random girls from my building.
  7. I got a sweet bike.
  8. I got to hang out with the coolest dad ever! ;)
(In advance, these pics  were taken by Jenna Baker)

This is where I sit. 1st row. Dead center.
This is my friend Jenna, she found me online before we went to BYU, and that is how we got these amazing seats. She's basically really cool. (Like my shirt? I "tailored" my size L to a size S-ish)
Dang cheerleaders. I mean, uh...I'm sure we could all be bosom buddies.... right... ;)
Yeah Buddy!

Peace out!

Day 1..ish.

So, my Mom actually helped me pack and clean out my room like crazy on Monday night.

Looks like fun, huh?

I ended up not waiting until the last 5 minutes to finish. Quite proud of myself. :)

This is my whole life right there in that trunk. That's right, everything.

Yeah, just ask my Dad about his skillz and how he hooked us up with a decent car. He'd love to tell you.

So, this is just the first of 3 trips we would make to Target today.

This is my room before I messed with it.

My bathroom and sink.
(Small, yes, but I don't have to share with a whole floor of girls)

And these are my sheets that don't match anything. :)

This is my own little convenient store.

This is somewhat after... (if only you could see what it looks like now).

Seriously... if only... I've got 250 glow-in-the-dark stars ALL over my room... unfortunately, my camera just couldn't handle this level of AWESOME-ness... so this is what I got... :(

Neither of them really turned out... so the only thing I can do, is have you take my word for it... It's amazing.

Okay, I'm going to bed now... 'Night!
